Chevenoz, is at the entrance of the Abondance valley. The village is equidistant from Chatel, Thonon and Evian, about 18 kilometers.
Local people and tourists can benefit from a multitude of leisure activities offered by the nearby resorts: downhill skiing or cross-country skiing, mountain biking, water sports on the shores of Lake Geneva... The hiking trails and the GR 5 allow hikers to discover the surrounding alpine pastures.
A dozen craft companies maintain about sixty jobs, the other major employers are made up of tourist resorts, the factories of Bas-Chablais (in particular the Evian Waters) as well as the Swiss cantons of Geneva, Vaud and Valais.
A bar also serving as a bread depot, perpetuates the conviviality in the heart of the village. Two farms produce Abondance cheese and pursue an agricultural activity essential for the preservation of the environment and the maintenance of traditions. Some associations work to animate the village and to organize meetings between its inhabitants.
Nearly 70 children in the primary school ensure the renewal of generations in Chevenoz and this would increase in the coming years, thanks the installation of many young households in the village.
