Saint-Paul-en-Chablais is located on the Gavot Plateau and overlooks the lake. Immediately opposite, lies the Swiss Riviera, with the towns of Morges, Lausanne and Montreux. Its location, midway between Evian and the lakeshore and the first ski resorts of Thollon and Bernex, make Saint-Paul-en-Chablais the ideal base from which to enjoy a wide variety of activities (sightseeing, mountain biking, hiking, winter sports, etc.). The Gavot Plateau's nearly 150 hectares of wetlands (lakes and marshlands) are located within the district.

Saint-Paul-en-Chablais remained the fief of the Barons of Blonay up until the last century; today, visitors can admire the remains of their castle, as well as old outbuildings, one of which has been converted into a village hall.
