La Chapelle d'Abondance extends on a very large area composed of protected natural sectors. The village located between Abondance and Châtel, is part of the Franco-Swiss Portes du Soleil ski area.
Activities & sightseeing
The resort offers 2 areas for downhill skiing: The Crêt Béni and Braitaz. Braitaz is connected to the ski areas of Châtel, Torgon and the Portes du Soleil. In addition to this, nordic activities have developed in recent years: cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, biathlon, dog sledding.
In summer, novices or sportspersons can discover many moutain trails hiking or mountain-biking.
Visitors can also discover river or lake fishing, observe the fauna and flora of the mountains, participate in the many festivities of the village, enjoy a cuisine with pronounced local flavors or rest in absolute calm!
Every year, a free exhibition at the "Maison des Sœurs" presents a specificity of the Abondance valley. A stop not to be missed.
