The town makes the most of its unique setting by pursuing a policy of top-quality landscaping and urban cleanliness, and by protecting the surrounding natural areas. The town enjoyed particularly rapid development during the first half of the 20th century. World-famous for its pure, natural spring water, Evian has managed to preserve and highlight part of its historic architectural heritage and offers visitors the image of a welcoming, dynamic town.
